N'Zon Coworking

Tirana,AL // 2025

Brief

Nzon is a 415 m² coworking space on Myslym Shyri in the center of Tirana. It holds 53 workstations, along with private offices, team offices, meeting rooms, phone booths, a conference room, and a central chill-out area with an integrated kitchen. Set on a semi-underground level with limited natural light, the project asks how a basement can feel bright, open, and alive.

Workspace

The entrance sets the tone at once. A graffiti-printed ceiling ripples over the lockers and reception, folding down to wrap the curved desk in the same riot of color. Terracotta-red locker doors and a dark, quiet back wall give the eye a place to rest, while a glazed partition offers a first glimpse of the workspace beyond.

Workstations line the perimeter, where what little daylight there is can reach them, and secondary functions sit in the deeper zones. Glass partitions, light-colored furniture, and pale carpet keep the floor plate open and luminous. Planted screens and white grid-frame dividers separate the desks, bringing greenery to the center of the plan and turning the circulation route into a garden path.

Light and Materials

Since daylight is scarce, the design borrows it. Glass lets it travel deep into the plan, and pale surfaces carry it further. Suspended rounded ceiling forms with slim linear fixtures add soft, even illumination above the desks. Deeper in the plan, saturated color takes over from daylight as the source of atmosphere.

The palette is deliberately raw. Sprayed acoustic finishes cover the ceilings and exposed ducts, giving the space a tactile, industrial character that also absorbs sound. Dark velvet curtains, warm timber paneling, and stone-look flooring add depth, while white steel frames keep the workspace crisp and light.

Central Hub

At the core, the mood shifts. The chill-out area is wrapped in deep purple and lit by neon, with a stepped timber platform of red cushions for lounging, a lime-yellow kitchen counter, and a graffiti bean bag. A framed window looks back onto the workspace, so the hub stays connected to the whole. This is where the graffiti language reaches its peak, fostering creativity, social interaction, and a dynamic working atmosphere.

Concept

Street-born textures meet calm, planted workspaces. Bold color is concentrated in a few chosen moments, letting the rest of the plan stay bright, open, and focused.
